Lori McMillan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Her previous teaching experience includes teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2ndgrade, as well as working as a Special Education preschool paraprofessional.

Mrs. McMillan believes that all children can grow and learn when they feel valued, and that when their environment is safe and consistent, they can grow up to contribute to society in a moral and intellectual way. She works hard to create a learning environment where every child feels valued and experiences success that coincides with their learning needs. She decided to go into education because she wanted to help children to do their best and be their best. She enjoys being part of a Catholic school and being able to share her faith with her students on a daily basis through her words and actions in the classroom. She also likes being able to pray with her students both at Mass and in class.

When she’s not teaching Kindergarten, Mrs. McMillan loves spending time with her family and going to her sons’ many activities, travel can cooking. She also loves to read and really enjoys teaching students in Kindergarten different ways to read.

“Working with students has taught me that learning is a life-long process. There isn’t a day that I walk into the classroom that I don’t learn something new. Maybe it’s a new strategy, maybe it’s a new technique, maybe it’s a new fact. I love that the kids become part of this learning process for me, teaching me new things about how to be a better teacher.” – Lori McMillan
