Leah Kaeppe returns to Saint Ambrose with experience teaching kindergarten at Saint Ambrose for many years, and as a K-5 interventionist at Saint Croix Catholic and Colfax Elementary in Colfax wisconsin.  She received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Augsburg University, with a minor in Special Education. She also has an M.A. in K-12th Grade Reading Instruction, which she earned at the University of Saint Thomas.  In addition, she is LETRS trained and Orton Gillingham certified level 1.

Leah is inspired by the uniqueness of each child.  She loves the challenge of figuring out how to reach each of her students academically and emotionally.  Leah believes as educators are able to discover these two parts, that is the juxtaposition where growth truly begins.  This journey of discovery is what drives her as a teacher to continue to learn and stretch in her knowledge of education and vocation.  Her students inspire her everyday to be a better educator by striving to be the best she can be for them.

She feels blessed to be at Saint Ambrose where every day she sees the Holy Spirit working through every teacher, student and parent who crosses our threshold.  It is a gift to be able to educate and walk alongside these children in their faith journey.  Saint Ambrose feels like home and home is where she hangs her heart.

She believes that every child is a gift from God.  She believes that creating a warm, loving and safe environment is the first step in the learning process.  She strives to do this with every child not only in my classroom but in our school as well through joy and laughter.

In her free time she loves  running, reading, learning and playing games with her family.  Some of their favorite games to play are Splendor, Spy Alley and Stuffed Fables.
“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”   — Albert Einstein, theoretical physicist
