Mrs. Ziemann attended Aveda following high school and cut/styled children’s hair for 14 years. During that time she attended St. Kates received her BS in Business Management and returned to St. Scholastica to earn my MA in Education. She taught kindergarten for 1 year at Valley Crossing, then opened a home daycare which she has done for the past twelve years.
Mrs. Ziemann is inspired most by everyone she has met that teaches has a story or a calling that has drawn them to education. When she was younger she wanted summers “off” to spend with my four girls, looking back even at my first jobs of babysitting she has always been drawn to teaching children. We teach but also learn so much just being around children’s energy and spirit.
She ran a daycare for a St. Ambrose family from when they were tiny tots to school-age. She was always impressed with the kind, calm, caring, intuitive nature of the family. When she interviewed and toured with St. Ambrose she immediately felt the same spirit from the staff and students. It truly is a warm, inviting environment.
Teaching is INCREDIBLE! This is the only field in which we can make any other career possible. We have the opportunity to serve, teach, educate children every day, and also have the responsibility to guide students towards achievement and success.
During her free time, she can usually be found on the soccer fields watching one of her four daughters play. She also enjoys yoga, gardening, and baking.
