Religion
Catholic Schools are different than other types of schools because they are founded on and supported by the guiding principles of the Catholic faith. Unlike other school environments, these principles can be interwoven throughout the curriculum — providing a foundation upon which the faith lives of the students can be built. These principles and values are demonstrated not only through a formal religion curriculum, but through prayer in the classroom, worshiping as a community at school liturgies, incorporating parents as active participants in the child’s faith development and using Christian values to solve disagreements between children. At Saint Ambrose of Woodbury we believe faith formation is accomplished as a community, and is a lifelong process.
Religion Texts
In 2014, we adopted the Our Sunday Visitor (2014) curriculum. This series aligns with the religion standards established by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Our family life curriculum is taught in grades 3-8. The text used in Junior High is Finding God series by Loyola Press (2014).
Faith Experiences
In addition to religious education that occurs in the classroom, students will be active participants in liturgical experiences. These experiences will include Mass, reconciliation services twice a year, classroom prayer, and service opportunities within our community and to the community at large.
