Kindergarten

651-768-3000 ext. 3041

I grew up in Mason City, Iowa, and received my BA in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I am the youngest of just two – my older sister is also an educator. I have known I would be a teacher from the time I could set up my dolls and stuffed animals on my bed and “teach” them while standing on my sister’s bed. Before I wanted to be a teacher, I knew my most prized role would be that of mother. My husband and I have two children who are just beginning their launch from the nest. Our son, Joseph, is finishing his studies at UW Stout, and our daughter, Maya, graduated from the University of Minnesota. We take every moment we can to enjoy our time together.

My career began in 1992 in Mason City where I taught 4th grade for several years. As we moved for my husband’s career, I have had the opportunity to teach all the elementary grades. However, I discovered my true love is Kindergarten, and haven’t left.

Most recently, I have been teaching Kindergarten at Woodbury Elementary. My time there gave me invaluable experience with so many beautiful children and families. However, over the last few years, I have heard God calling me to change course. As a Catholic, I have always wanted to take a bigger leap with my faith. When this position became available, it was the answer to a long awaited need for change and the opportunity to share my love for God with the littlest learners.

Kindergarten is magical and beautiful. I believe that God hears the prayers of our children first, as they come from the hearts of the most innocent. I am excited to begin this journey and walk (or skip) alongside your children as we learn and grow our faith together.
